Philosophy
My
desire as an architect is to design creative, exciting spaces! I
further emphasize natural, light-filled, as well as cost-effective
solutions. These spaces are unique to the client, the site and the
time for which they are designed.
Some
of the priorities that I consider important to a satisfying project
are:
- Close
client relationships
It
is essential to have good communication between the client, the
architect and the contractor. This starts with me being a good
listener.
- Solid,
lasting Designs
Within a variety of styles, the emphasis on clean, classic lines,
abundant natural light, balanced spaces and smooth flow will lead
to a design which is appropriate now and in the future.
- Cost-effective
Design
Eliminating waste in both the design process and during construction
gives the client the most impact for their budget. This attitude
may be applied to any project and any budget. The result is a
more refined design.
- Use
of Computers
In my estimation, the primary advantage of using computers during
the design process is to minimize the time spent in production
so that it may be used in developing the actual design. I make
extensive use of computer modeling and drafting to this end.
